Soniccouture – Kim 2.1.0 Complete+ Update
The kim is a type of dulcimer or zither from Thailand, related to the Chinese yangqin. The instrument consists of a flat body with 42 metal strings, strung in 14 rows of three strings each. The strings are vibrated by two thin bamboo hammers with soft leather tips.
The kim is a quiet instrument, often played with a tremolo. Because it has no damping mechanism, the strings resonate freely until they decay naturally, creating a ghostly background sound during performance. The instrument is used both for solo playing and in ensembles.
The control panel includes tone controls, a reverse playback button, modules for realistic tremolo and fingerpicking.
